Tipico Poised to Expand in German-Speaking Markets with Atlas Group Acquisition
Tipico Group aims to acquire a full stake in Atlas Group, with financial specifics yet undisclosed. This move will bolster Tipico’s presence in Europe, particularly in German-speaking countries.
Pending regulatory approvals, the acquisition will allow Tipico to extend its operations into Austria, leveraging the Admiral Sportwetten brand. Admiral Sportwetten already boasts a strong online presence and operates 200 physical locations throughout Austria.
Novomatic views this transaction as a strategic step to broaden its global footprint. Stefan Krenn, a member of Novomatic’s Executive Board, stated that the sale of Admiral Group in Austria was a calculated decision to fuel future growth and expansion. He emphasized that Tipico is a trusted partner capable of sustaining Admiral’s success in Austria.
Tipico Group CEO Axel Hefer echoed this sentiment, highlighting the company’s ambition to expand its reach in German-speaking markets, especially Austria. Hefer emphasized that the collaboration with Admiral would enhance their technology, product innovation, and consumer protection.
